Broad Street pedestrianisation consultation

by Ian Yuill on 12 May, 2016

Photo of Broad StreetAberdeen City Council’s Wednesday 11th May meeting decided to launch a consultation on whether or not to pedestrianise Broad Street.

The consultation will run from Monday 16th May until Sunday 12th June and the options being consulted onĀ are:

  • No change
  • Bus and bicycle only
  • Full pedestrianisation

My Liberal Democrat colleagues and I urged the council to extend the consultation period until Thursday 30th June to give people more time to respond. This was rejected by Labour, Conservative and SNP councillors. We also proposed that the council hold at least one consultation “roadshow” open to the public in the city centre and that was also rejected by the other parties.

You can read the report presented to councillors at the council meeting here.

Be sure to have your say in the consultation.
