I have been told by council roads staff that the resurfacing of the lower part of Deeside Gardens, which was due to take place over the next few months, now seems very likely to be delayed as British Gas are planning to dig Deeside GardensĀ up early in the new year.
Whilst it is very disappointing that the urgently needed resurfacing of Deeside Gardens looks set to be delayed, it obviously makes no sense for the council to resurface it only for British Gas to then come along and dig it up.
I have urged council staff to ensure that the resurfacing is carried outĀ as soon as possible after British Gas complete their work.

I note you refer specifically to the ‘lower part’ of Deeside Gardens. Does this also refer the the upper, northern part of Deeside Gardens, both as regards gas pipe renewal and subsequent resurfacing?
It is the lower part of Deeside Gardens that is in the council’s resurfacing programme for this year.
I don’t know the detail of what British Gas plan as that is not something councillors are normally told about. I only found out about their plans for the lower part of Deeside Gardens because of the impact that was going to have on the council’s plans to resurface that part of Deeside Gardens. I have asked council staff for this information.
