Residents’ suggestions for making better use of Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre

by Ian Yuill on 15 January, 2017

Photo of Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre signThank you to everyone who has replied to my survey asking how better use could be made of Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre on Pitstruan Place.

I have received a large number of suggestions and have forwarded these to Sport Aberdeen.

Amongst the suggestions made by residents were:

  • Make more flexible use of tennis courts by creating a multi use area
  • Football for 55+
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Organised health improvement activities
  • Outdoor gym area
  • Make more use of the pavilion
  • Community cafe in pavilion
  • Reopen the putting green
  • Provide a children’s play area
  • Provide some picnic benches
  • Hold school holiday activities
  • Hold community events

If you have any suggestions, its not too late to let me have these. You can do this here.

I am meeting Sport Aberdeen later this week and will be discussing residents’ suggestions – and how we take things forward to make more and better use of our outdoor sport centre –  with them.
