Over forty people attended the community meeting I organised on 23rd February to discuss how better use could be made of Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre on Pitstruan Place.
Residents shared their views with each other and with Tom Lambert of Sport Aberdeen, my colleague Martin Greig and me about how they would like to take things forward. There was real enthusiasm about making more of our outdoor sports centre and a group of people volunteered to work together to look at what the next steps should be.
I am looking forward to working with residents in the weeks and months ahead as we develop and implement our community’s plans for our outdoor sports centre.

Sorry I couldn’t make it to the community meeting about Ruthrieston Sports Centre. However I would like to help out if they/you are looking for volunteers. I used the tennis courts a lot as a teenager and my kids played tennis there too.
Thanks.
Gillian, Thanks for volunteering. I will add you to the list of those who volunteered at the meeting. I will be in touch.
I shall volunteer my services.
I am a close resident to the sports centre with 2 young children so I definitely want to see this space kept as green space, NOT housing!
Hi,
I run a wee company teaching children to ride balance bikes and I’m looking for a venue that would help us deliver the sessions.
Would it be possible to be put in touch with the action group? Perhaps we can help drum up some interest from families around the area.
Cheers
Andy
