At its recent budget setting meeting, Aberdeen City Council rejected a proposal I made to create an Education Fund of £2.5 million. This extra money could have been used to make a real difference to the education of every single pupil in Aberdeen’s schools.
The Education Fund my Liberal Democrat colleagues and I proposed would have meant our local schools could have benefited from additional funding of:
Airyhall School £39,405 Broomhill School £43,512 Kaimhill School £30,525 Harlaw Academy £101,232 Hazlehead Academy £89,244
Sadly Labour, Conservative, SNP and Independent councillors all failed to back our carefully-costed plan to invest in the education of our city’s children.
