Thongrove Avenue’s crumbling road surface

by Ian Yuill on 7 January, 2018

Photo of Ian Yuill at potholeI recently met “on site” with residents and a member of the council’s roads staff to discuss the ever-deteriorating state of the road surface of Thorngrove Avenue.

The residents and I pointed out just how badly broken up the surface of Thorngrove Avenue is in places. We made the point that there was little point in repeatedly filling potholes and broken areas which reappear just a few days or weeks later. We urged that the road was properly resurfaced as soon as possible.

I will continue to press the council to properly resurface and repair the road surface of Thorngrove Avenue and other badly broken up road surfaces in our area.

    Hi Ian
    Couldn’t resist adding;
    1) TGA’s Road surface as we know is not only in a seriously bad condition the condition is dangerous.
    2) TGA is a seriously overused ‘rat run’ used by vehicles from personal, commercial vans, heavy duty lorries to avoid the traffic lights at the Anderson/ Gt. Western junction. This adds to the degradation of the TGA Road surface.
    3) In conjunction with points 1) and
    2) rat running traffic requires access to TGA reduction management, immediately.

    The residents of Thorngrove do no want to wait for a serious
    accident to occur due to speeding and dodging around pot
    holes. How loud do we the concerned have to complain
    again and again.
    Money does not come into the equation

    Many thanks for your continued pushing to get TGA re surfaced. We have had so many patch up jobs that 9 out of 10 have been unsuccessful and just return. Keeping our fingers crossed that finally something concrete will come out of the discussions.

    Thanks again and I hope at last the powers that be will finally see sense.

    I noted last week the council at long last cleaned up the leaves on TGA well done.
