Aldi supermarket proposed for Countesswells Road

by Ian Yuill on 22 May, 2020

Aldi have annouced plans to build a supermarket on Countesswells Road, opposite the entrance to Robert Gordon’s College’s playing fields.

A planning application has yet to be submitted but, in the meantime, Aldi are seeking public feedback on their proposal.

It is important to remember that taking part in Aldi’s consultation is not the same as lodging an objection to their planning application. If you do wish to object to or support the planning application you will need to do this direct to the city council once a planning application is made.

Due to the lockdown restrictions, Aldi’s public consultation will take place online using a website set to be available Wednesday 27th May. An online question and answer video session will also take place from 4pm-7pm on Friday 29th May where members of the development team will be available to take questions from the public.

Aldi are also sending out approximately 2,000 leaflets and feedback forms in the post to homes nearest the site. If you do not receive these, you can download Aldi’s leaflet here and the feedback form here.

Please remember that if ultimately you decide to object to or support Aldi’s proposal you will need to do that directly to the city council once a planning application is made.
