Work to build the West Link Road – part of the housing development at Countesswells – means the Cults to Kingswells Road is set to close until just before Christmas.
There will be a diversion for the duration of the closure which signposted by Aberdeen City Council’s Roads Service.
Once completed, the West Link Road, including a cycle way, will provide an improved link for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
The road is due to be closed from 21st September 2020 until 20th December 2020.

Thanks for the Cults to Kingswellls link road info. I was particulalry happy that the road will incorporate a cycle and pedestrian track / path. Well done for that.
May I suggest that the link road path for cycles and pedestrians be in some way segregated. Even by simple markers.
The Deeside Line path / cycle track has sharing problems.
As a cyclist I have noted a drop in pedestrians using the Deeside Line Way and believe this is because the walkers are scared of the cyclists. Segregation would help there too.
Yes the gentleman above hits the nail right on the head.
I would add it should be mandatory and enforced an audible bell is installed on all bikes.
It is pure luck nobody has been hurt on the Deeside line at the speed some cyclists use this loved out doors facility without bells on their bikes.
The law requires new bikes to be sold with bells. It doesn’t though require people to have bells on bikes.
