Delays in street light repairs

I am regularly contacted by residents concerned about how long it is taking the council to repair some faulty street lights.

There was a backlog of repairs after the lockdown earlier this year and council staff have been working their way through these.

More recent problems have included a repair to a street light on Gray Street and ongoing issues with the street lights at the Broomhill Road and South Anderson Drive.

The faulty light on Gray Street has now finally been repaired.

The issue with the lights at the junction of Broomhill Road and South Anderson Drive is a problem with the control system, rather than the individual lights. Work is taking place to fix this.

Please do not hesitate to let me know about any faulty street lights in our area.

  1. Steve Leyton says:

This could be a probable reason for the increase in industrial and private traffic both ways on Hammerfield,Thorngrove Avenue and Seafield Road.
Further reassurances from the Aberdeen councils Roads Department the AWPR would reduce or eliminate ‘rat-running’ across these residential areas never met and apparently not likely too.
