Johnston Gardens pollution concerns

by Ian Yuill on 6 March, 2021

A number of residents have been in touch with me about pollution in the pond at Johnston Gardens.

As Johnston Gardens is not in the area I represent, this issue is being pursued by my colleague Martin Greig who is councillor for that area.

The orange colour in the water comes from subsoil in the water flowing into the pond. I understand the subsoil is not toxic and is not a risk to the birds which use the pond. There are apparently no fish in this pond.

The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency is investigating the source of the pollution.
