Morningside Road parking concerns

by Ian Yuill on 30 April, 2022

Update

After being contacted by concerned residents, I highlighted to Council staff the problems being caused by cars parked at the northern end of Morningside Road near its junction with Oakdale Terrace.

The people who contacted me suggested that extending double yellow lines further south on Morningside Road would help tackle this problem.

The Council’s Traffic Management Team replied to me saying they do not believe any action is needed.

Having seen the problems caused by these parked cars myself, I believe the Traffic Management Team are wrong. I will continue to press for action to be taken.

Thanks for this Ian. Just wondering if maybe submitting a couple of photos of the Culprits of this hazardous parking would make the Council sit up and listen to us residents who are being inconvenienced by these cars

I fully agree with you about the problem on Morningside Road and Oakdale Terrace. Perhaps the Traffic Management Team should try living with the problem. It is an accident waiting to happen.

I have officially complained to the police to draw their attention to this!! But it looks like no action has been taken.
This is an accident just waiting to happen.
Even bigger problem when Tesco’s delivery truck is parked opposite.
I go up and down this road approximately 4 times a day.

Hi Iain, can you give us the exact department of the Council that we can complain to about the parking situation at the top of Morningside Road. An email address would be good.
    Thank you
    George Tierney
