Council staff are pushing Scottish Water to complete the work it is carrying out on Broomhill Road between Duthie Terrace and Hammerfield Avenue sooner than the currently planned completion date of Monday 16th September. This would allow Broomhill Road to be reopened earlier than the currently scheduled Tuesday 17th September.
It was only after the Council dug up this part of Broomhill Road to find proof that a Scottish Water leak was causing the road to sink that Scottish Water finally accepted responsibility for this issue last Thursday. Scottish Water then decided, after refusing to accept responsibility for this problem for many months, that repairing the leak was urgent. That led to the current works and road closure.
