Sadly, I regularly have to ask the Council to remove dumped items in our area – most recently at Garthdee Drive and Inchbrae Drive.

One of the places in our area which people most often contact me about is The Woodies off Broomhill Road and I thought it would be helpful to give an update on various issues about the Woodies.

I have urged Council staff to cut back low growing branches on street trees on Braeside Avenue.

After I contacted Council staff about missing street trees in the Morningside area they have agreed to plant approximately 30 new street trees in the Morningside area this winter.

I have urged Council staff to remove dead street trees and street tree stumps in the Morningside area. I have also asked for replacement street trees to be planted in that area.

After I highlighted the problem, the City Council has agreed to remove several dead trees from The Woodies off Broomhill Road.

A number of Airyhall residents have contacted me about problems with seagulls in Airyhall. Although these gulls are clearly causing problems, councils have no special powers to take action against gulls. Only the owners or occupiers of land and buildings, or someone acting on their behalf, can take action against nesting gulls.

I have called on the Council to remove several large dead trees from The Woodies off Broomhill Road.
