City libraries go online

Aberdeen City Libraries have has an online presence for some time and these services have seen an increase in use during the lockdown. All you need to access these services is your library card.

It is a disgrace that the gates of Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre on Pitstruan Place have been broken open, not just once but twice, in recent days.

Please help keep our sewers flowing

Scottish Water is urging people to be very careful about what they flush down toilets. In the final two weeks of March, Scottish Water’s sewer response teams cleared 1,343 blocked sewer pipes across the country.

I am pleased that Aberdeen City Council has announced it will restart collecting mixed recycling, food waste and garden waste from wheelie bins from Monday 6th April. This will though be on a reduced frequency.

Council staff have told me that the areas of grass around Garthdee which have been left uncut this year will not be cut in future and will be left as “natural areas”.

Council staff have agreed to a request I made and will either replace or refurbish the benches and picnic table at the play area at Craigielea Gardens.

Residents have told me how annoyed they are that some people are parking on the grass field opposite Caledon Court at the junction of Auchinyell Road and Garthdee Road.
