I am delighted that, after considerable pressure, the well used lane behind Broomhill School has finally been resurfaced.

The bus shelter outside Mannofield Church on Great Western Road, which was very badly damaged in an accident in July, is to be replaced.

The resurfacing of Deeside Park – delayed because of the pandemic – is due to take place from 11th to 15th August.

The North East transport partnership Nestrans is carrying out a consultation on a range of proposals for travel in Aberdeen City and Shire in the coming years.

I have been contacted by residents and business people concerned about the size of marquees erected outside businesses on Union Street and Belmont Street.

The council is continuing to make temporary changes to road and pavement layouts to create extra space for pedestrians so that people can social distance.

Major temporary changes are set to be made to Union Street and other roads in the city centre to accommodate social distancing as we slowly emerge from lockdown.

After the council published the list of roads due to be resurfaced over the next 11 months I contacted council staff to ask why Deeside Park – which had been due to be resurfaced by the end of March this year – had not been included.

The list of roads and pavements scheduled to be resurfaced over the next 11 months was confirmed at a meeting of the council’s Urgent Business Committee on 6th May.

Problems are continuing to be caused for people living on and near Deeside Drive by badly and thoughtlessly parked cars. Some cars have even been parked on the recently installed double yellow lines.
