Ian Yuill continued “The surface of Great Western Road has completely disintegrated here. Several layers of the road have broken up. It is rutted and potholed.

“It looks more like the surface of the Moon than one of our city’s major roads.

“Drivers are swerving to avoid the biggest holes and that could lead to accidents. Even at low speeds, driving across this stretch of road makes everything in your car, including your teeth, rattle. Pedestrians are also tripping crossing the road, it is so uneven.

“Although the resurfacing work will cause some disruption to traffic, it will be worth it to get the road surface properly repaired.”
