Part of Abergeldie Road resurfaced

by Ian Yuill on 5 June, 2017

I am pleased that part of Abergeldie Road has been resurfaced. Sadly though, the area resurfaced did not include the badly broken area at the junction of Abergeldie Road and Abergeldie Terrace. I will continue to press for this, and other crumbling roads and uneven pavements in our area, to be properly repaired and resurfaced. Sign […]

The National Library of Scotland has created an online tool to allow people to see how an area looks in a recent satellite photo compared to a map published in 1896. Using the blue slider button on the left hand side of the tool’s screen, you can look at the map, the photo or, best […]

I am delighted that, after a great deal of pressure, the council has resurfaced Ruthrieston Road outside Ruthrie Court and the section of Ruthrie Road at its junction with Ruthrieston Road. This was in a terrible state. Problems with potholes and broken road surfaces will only get worse until the council invests more in repairing and resurfacing crumbling roads and pavements. My Liberal Democrat colleagues and I will continue to […]

A mix up at Police Scotland’s new centralised control room led to police officers being sent to a Tesco store in Glasgow, rather than Tesco in Mannofield. The error happened after staff at Mannofield’s Tesco store reported an attempted break in. The police control room sent police officers to Great Western Road in Glasgow when […]

Action needed on crumbling roads and pavements

by Ian Yuill on 8 April, 2017

I am regularly contacted by people concerned at the condition of roads and pavements in our area. Every time this happens I contact the council’s roads staff to highlight residents’ concerns and ask that the section of pavement or road people have contacted me about is inspected and repaired or resurfaced. The roads I have […]

Council roads staff have now confirmed to me that the pavements of Hutchison Terrace will be resurfaced. The work is scheduled to begin on 3rd July. This is very welcome news. The pavements of Hutchison Terrace are in a disgraceful state. I will continue to press for more pavement and roads in our area to be resurfaced. […]
