You may have seen press reports that Aberdeen City Council may change household wheelie bin collections from once a fortnight to only once every three weeks.
Aberdeen’s Liberal Democrat councillors would oppose changing to collections once every three weeks.
I would like to hear what you think of the current domestic waste and recycling arrangements and of the possibility of changing to collecting wheelie bins once every three weeks. I would be very grateful if you could take a couple of minutes to complete my brief online survey.
If you are having problems with the emptying of your wheelie bin please contact Aberdeen City Council’s Waste and Recycling Team. If you prefer you can contact me.

Food-recycling bins were not collected over the the Festive period in Braeside Terrace. Really can’t understand the council encouraging us all to place food in these bins then not collect them. All we are encouraging infestations of maggots and blue bottles. Not impressed at all
Sadly, Braeside Terrace was not the only road to have this problem. I contacted council staff about Braeside Terrace, and the other roads people told me there was a problem, and urged that the brown bins were emptied as soon as possible.
I have been told by another resident that the brown bins on Braeside Terrace have now been emptied.
It is unacceptable that, so long after the council changed the arrangements, there are still major problems with wheelie bin collection. Residents should be able to rely on having their wheelie bins emptied on the scheduled days.
