Nominations for the elections to the four community councils covering our area have now closed – with mixed results.
In Ashely and Broomhill, six people were nominated for the twelve available places. This means the Ashley and Broomhill Community Council, which has been suspended for the last three years, will be reformed with the six people nominated “elected unopposed” to serve as community councillors for the next three years.
In Braeside and Mannofield, six people were nominated for the twelve available places. This means Braeside and Mannofield Community Council will continue in existence with the residents nominated “elected unopposed” to serve as community councillors until 2024.
In Garthdee, ten people were nominated for the twelve available places available. Garthdee Community Council therefore continues in existence with the people nominated again being “elected unopposed” to serve as community councillors for three years.
You can find details of the people elected to Ashley and Broomhill, Braeside and Mannofield, and Garthdee Community Councils here.
I look forward to working with the members of all three community councils.
Sadly, in the Ferryhill and Ruthrieston Community Council area not enough nominations were received to re-establish the local community council. There is though a process for residents of this area to seek to establish a community council in future.
