Council staff have told me that the large concrete blocks and fence blocking the short footpath between South Anderson Drive and Holburn Street are to be removed. They have apologised for the delay taking action on this.

The blocks and fence were put in place without permission from the Council several months ago.

I am very pleased that the blocks are to be removed – but it is very frustrating that it has taken so long to get the Council to take action. I was told by Council staff that this was due to uncertainty about the ownership of the land, but this is not the first time the Council has had to act to get barriers removed from this footpath.

I have asked Council staff to emphasise to those responsible for putting the barrier in place that they must not do this again. I have also asked Council staff to ask for the yellow skip on the footpath to be removed.
