The A92 Stonehaven Road will be closed between the Bridge of Dee and the Charleston flyover from Monday 8th April to Friday 19th April for road repairs. The closure includes the Bridge of Dee roundabout.
Whilst the road being repaired is welcome, the road closure is going to cause delays and disruption.
The Bridge of Dee roundabout will be closed for the first few days of the project and will be reopened once work is completed on it. While resurfacing of the Bridge of Dee roundabout is taking place, Leggart Terrace and South Deeside Road will not have any access from the city side. Drivers normally accessing South Deeside Road will be diverted via Maryculter bridge and along North Deeside Road.
When the roundabout reopens, traffic will be able to access Great Southern Road and Leggart Terrace to South Deeside Road.
The temporary traffic order is:
Location: A92 Stonehaven Road / Bridge of Dee Roundabout
Restriction Type: Road Closure
From: 08 Apr 2024 04:00
Until: 19 Apr 2024 17:00
Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The effect of this order is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on A92 Stonehaven Road , Aberdeen on the Northbound and southbound carriageways from 600m south of the Charleston Flyover to and including the Bridge of Dee Roundabout. The bridge of Dee roundabout section will be closed for approximately 4 Days from the 8th April 2024. The restrictions are in the interests of public safety during ACC Road Maintenance works.
Alternative Route: Northbound – Wellington Road, West Tullos Road. Eastbound – Miltimber Brae North Deeside Road, Great Western Road South Anderson Drive

Could they complete works on the roundabout first then have it opened so that access to and from leggart and across the bridge on to the south of the river to altens can be accessed leaving the Stonehaven road closed for the remaining works or is that too simplistic for the council and contractors
Trevor Stirton, yes, as I say in the post, the roundabout will be resurfaced first and then opened.
