  1. As we are going on about roads in garthdee -gaitside terrace is a disgrace with potholes

    • Ian Yuill says:

Gordon Yeoman, sadly, Gaitside Terrace is not the only road in Garthdee that needs work. The list of roads and pavements to be resurfaced and repaired in 2024/25 will be published in June. This list is compiled by the Council’s Roads Team and, by convention, is not amended by councillors.

What councillors do do though is set the budget for road and pavements resurfacing and repairs. When my colleagues and I took control of the Council in May 2022, we made a commitment to invest more each year in resurfacing and properly repairing Aberdeen’s roads and pavements. We added £4 million to the roads and pavements resurfacing and repairs budget last year and will continue to invest more every year until Aberdeen’s roads and pavements are once more of an acceptable standard. That though will take a number of years.
