I am continuing to receive complaints from across our area about the council not emptying people’s wheelie bins on time. This continuing failure to empty wheelie bins is unacceptable.

Problems started when the council changed wheelie bin emptying arrangement earlier this year.

People have told me about wheelie bins being left unemptied for days after they should have been emptied, collections being missed and some homes not receiving wheelie bin collections for weeks on end.

In ever case I contact council staff and urge them to sort the problems. I have also contacted the council’s Director of Communities, Housing and Infrastructure saying how unhappy many people are with the service they are receiving and urging her to take action to solve the problems without any more delay.
