Council staff remove graffiti from a street name sign at Two Mile Cross after I highlighted the problem.

Issues discussed at the 15th May meeting of Ashley and Broomhill Community Council included Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre, possible future community events, and the forthcoming Festival of the Sea in Aberdeen.

Issues discussed at the 14th May meeting of Garthdee Community Council included overnight noise from cars in Asda’s car park, a report from the local Police, and the ongoing discussions about the future of the Garthdee Controlled Parking Zone.

Sport Aberdeen has confirmed that the refurbished tennis courts at Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports should be open by the end of next week.

After I highlighted the problem, Council staff have repaired two damaged bollards on Broomhill Road.

I have asked Council staff to repair potholes and broken areas in the road surface of Beechhill Gardens.

On Friday 10th May, I met with representatives of Robert Gordon University, the City Council, and Garthdee community representatives to discuss the Garthdee Controlled Parking Zone. The discussions were constructive and another meeting will be arranged to continue those discussions.

My colleague Martin Greig has urged Council staff to remove the recently painted graffiti at the Johnston Gardens shelter as soon as possible. Martin is councillor for the area that includes Johnston Gardens.

I have asked Council staff to repair the damaged bollard near 100 Broomhill Road.

Council staff have agreed to repaint the double yellow lines at the junction of Irvine Place and Allan Street. I asked for this to be done after a resident highlighted to me that the double yellow lines were so worn drivers were parking on them and obstructing the junction.
