Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre – update

by Ian Yuill on 5 November, 2016

Photo of Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre signThanks to everyone in the Broomhill area who has already returned my survey about Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre. If you have not already done so, please do let me have your suggestions about what activities you would like to see at the outdoor sport centre.

I recently met the Chief Executive of Sport Aberdeen and one of his colleagues to discuss how better use could be made of the outdoor sports centre. I was very pleased by their positive attitude and will be having further discussions with them.

In the meantime, please do use the tennis courts at Ruthrieston Outdoor Sports Centre. There is no charge to use these – you can just walk on.

    Dear Ian,
thank you for the reminder about comments on Ruthrieston outdoor centre. The tennis courts are behind our house on Salisbury. I want to let you know that I and rest of my family play on the courts whenever we can in the summer. We attended the Friday evening Sport Aberdeen tennis sessions, and we play in summer months after school on Monday, and on Sundays. We make huge use of the courts. My husband and I also look after them a bit – we sweep away any broken glass left by yobs, we pick up the litter. We have encouraged others to make use of them also. My boys also use the green area to play football and frisby. It is also highly used for dog walking – it is a precious green space in a built up area. Regards Alison
