After being contacted by a number of residents I have urged the City Council to remove three large concrete blocks which have been placed to block the footpath between South Anderson Drive and Holburn Street at the rear of 662 Holburn Street.
This footpath is used by many people who prefer it to the very narrow pavement in front of 622 Holburn Street.
This footpath – which is Council owned – has previously been blocked by the occupier of 662 Holburn Street. On those occasions the Council took action as landowner to have those obstructions removed.
I have also urged that the Council seek to recover the cost of removing the blocks from whoever put them in place.

I wonder when it would get done as I walk along it every day.
Michael Forbes, hopefully the blocks will be removed very soon.
This land owner needs to be reminded that public rights come first. They are chancing their luck that the Council would turn a blind eye.
Ed Pirie, the Council is the landowner. Whilst I don’t yet know who placed the concrete blocks, in the past tenants of 662 Holburn Street have tried to block this route. On one occasion this involved putting up a fence which was removed after I highlighted this to the Council.
