‘One-way’ proposal for Gray Street and Salisbury Terrace – have your say

by Ian Yuill on 15 June, 2018

'One Way' signThere are only a few days left to have your say on proposals to make traffic one-way on Salisbury Terrace and on the part of Gray Street between Great Western Road and Broomhill Road.

The proposal is to make the part of Gray Street between Great Western Road and Broomhill Road one-way northwards (towards Great Western Road) and make Salisbury Terrace one-way southwards (towards Broomhill Road).

You can view the council notice about this here and the proposed traffic order here.

If you wish to object to these proposals you must do so no later than Wednesday 20th June. To make an objection you should either e-mail trafficmanagement@aberdeencity.gov.uk or write to:

  1. John Atkinson says:

Why do the council not include their reasons in the circular. This would avoid wasting their time and ours on visits and phone calls which is not necessarily a simple proposition for those with jobs or, like myself, recovering from a spell in ARI,

  2. Ian Andrew says:

This is long overdue. It would be great if this goes ahead.
It may also lead to Salisbury terrace actually getting resurfaced.

  3. John Harrison says:

HGV’S cintinue to use these two roads to short cut Anderson Drive. One can only assume that more large vehicles will use these roads to go one way or the other once the one way system comes into force.
This will increase the danger level to school children who attend Broomhill Primary.
It is imperative that when these two roads become one way a 7.5 ton limit is imposed on vehicles except for access

  4. les clark says:

    no to one way

  5. Andy Sim says:

The ‘lower’ section of Gray Street between Broomhill Rd & Gray St, also needs to be reviewed. HGV’s continually use it as a ‘Rat Run’ to avoid Anderson Drive. This is a common route that kids use for attending Broomhill School. Also a 20mph speed limit should be installed on this section of road, similar to Aberdgeldie.
